We first saw the term "Nuclear Mafia" used by former Commander in Chief of Pacific Forces Noel Gaylor, who used it to describe defense contractors.
At the time, in the early 1980's, the U.S. had over 30,000 nuclear warheads, enough to destroy civilizations, were they to exist, on all the known planets.
Such numbers cannot be used for defense, so we had to ask, are we simply making them to provide profit for transnational investors?
Without warheads, there is no reason to build all the strategic bombers, missiles, and many naval vessels. These "launch and delivery vehicles" cost us hundreds of billions of dollars, and will not be built if we don't keep making nuclear warheads.
We use "nuclear mafia" in place of the euphemism "defense contractor," since they more endanger us than defend us, as they steal billions from the hungry and those in need of medical care.
